It is one of those rare moments in time when I am updating this thing...

So I've been reading all of these articles lately about how people are making provisions for the obese.  For example, they are making baby seats larger for obese children.  So instead of saying wow my baby is too big for this seat maybe we should feed him healthier food, they will say, well its a good thing they made a bigger seat for my fat baby.  Yes, let us ignore that there are more obese children than ever before and encourage it by making baby seats wider.

And then there was another article about how this hospital is changing their equipment in order to better provide for the obese.  Now don't think that I'm a jerk that feels that just because you are overweight you shouldn't have the same care as others, read on first.  So this hospital was originall equiped for people weighing up to about 350lbs, which for a person of average height would put you in the obese category.  Now with the way Americans are today, they want to accomodate people up about i think it was 900lbs.  They then gave the reasoning using a woman's personal example of how when she sat on the examining table the over end flipped up and she was soo embarrassed.  The article then proceeded to say that she weighed 700lbs at her heaviest.

I honestly think that the hospital's money would be better spent for some nutritional/fitness program within the hospital than for new, larger equipment.  Isn't it the hospital's job to ensure the healthiness of a patient rather than accepting the unhealthiness of one?

Now I know how hard it is to lose weigh because obviously I am not a skinny person.  But, I just cannot fathom eating til the point where you are 600lbs.  I just think that our country should stop accepting this disease and put more effort in finding healthy preventative methods.
